Star Ferry at Wanchai Ferry Pier, 1996

This photo of the Star Ferry at Wanchai Ferry Pier was taken in October 1995 or 1996 when I was visiting Hong Kong.  It was the second Wanchai Ferry Pier.  It was demolished at the time the waterfront was extended further north to its current location.  On my first visit to Hong Kong one could see the last rickshaw.  There was a man outside the entrance to  the Wanchai Ferry who had a rickshaw.  He had long since abandoned the idea of taking people to other places and instead made a living from letting tourists pose for photographs in his rickshaw.  I think it is likely that the rickshaw currently on view at the Peak is the same one.
