I mistakenly thought that no. 7 Broadwood Road, "Murriville" still existed in 1927-28. Moddsey's clever discovery of a 1926 article reporting that a falling boulder had caused the evacuation of Murriville and probably damaged the foundations, explains why there is no valuation for the property stated for 1927-28, even though the plot (I.L. 2136) and the former name of the house is still listed. The house must have been condemned.

Jill, that was interesting to learn about the falling boulder that caused damage to no. 8 Broadwood Road in 1926 and the consequent evacuation.  In Carl Smith's card on Patrick Henry Murray, he wrote that Patrick died in his home at 209 Wanchai Road in 1927.  His wife Lucretia (Reed) Murray died in 1922.  If the Murray family lived at no. 8, this would explain why Patrick Murray died in the Wanchai house following the boulder incident.

The Wanchai houses were bequeathed by Anna Maria (Diaz) Reed to her son Amaro John Reed (no. 167) and her daughter Lucretia (Reed) Murray (no. 209), both by her first marriage to Robert Reed.  She also bequeathed a house (no. 165) to Margaret Anne Bond from her second marriage to Charles Bond .  The two Broadwood Road houses, no. 7 and no. 8 were owned by Patrick Murray and Margaret Bond respectively.
