The 1960 Hong Kong map has helped me identify the location of the outdoor stairs that I walked on in the early 1950s. I believe the former school building and the stairs had been demolished earlier, it is still shown in the 1960 map. The lower photo shows a part of the stairs that run parallel to Un Chow St.
Readers my generation who attended Tak (Tack) Ching will remember the stairs. It started from ground to the top level. Notice it was connected also to the Convent although we students used only the branch to the school. It was all metal construction, and fully enclosed no way a student could fall off.
Comments and correction welcome. Regards, OldTimer
