On a visit to Macau in 1950, my parents showed me the house on Rua do Tap Siac where they lived during the war years, and where I was born at San Raphael Hospital. My father's mother, Maria Rita (da Silva) Reed, his sister-in-law Marie (Diniz) Reed and her daughter Mary also stayed at this house before we returned to Hong Kong when the war ended.
