This is certainly one of my photos but I don't remember taking it.   From the angle of the shot I beleive itwas taken from the Tai Po Road.   We used to come over Route TWISK from Sek Kong to Tsun Wan and then along the Castle Peak/Kowloon road into the city.

I think the focus of the photo was the completion of the 7-storey resettlement estate. Given the year, looks like Shek Kip Mei Estate and the temporary housing that were built after the disastrous squatter hut fire on Christmas Day 1953.

Shek Kip Mei estate is located behind the hill (Garden Hill) on the left, so it can't be seen from here. The 7-storey building was the first completed block for the Lei Cheng UK estate. It's located where Po Hei Court now stands. You can see Sheung Li Uk estate (completed 1952) where Tai Po Road runs past the bottom of the aforementioned hill.

Another view of the 7-storey place can be seen here: https://www.grs.gov.hk/ws/online/utsr/part2/en/c.htm#ad-image-7

Edit: HKGov has this photo from August 1954, so Curly's image is late '54 or into '55
