Yes, post-war photos show 中央市場 above the entrance to Central Market on the DVRC side.
A few years ago when Central Market was being re-developed, I looked at photos from 1939 and 1941 to see if there was a pre-war Chinese sign showing 中環街市 at the building's DVRC entrance. Findings reveal only a sign in English showing "Central Market" and this was later removed.
