That's the intersection of Yu Chau West and Wing Ming Street. The shack was where some Dai Pai Dongs were. The street scene was almost the same when I went there in the 70's almost every second day. At the end of Yu Chau West Street right beside the slope and Ching Cheung Road were Wing Cheong (永昌)and Hang Cheung (恒昌)Industrial Buildings.
I'm not so sure. I can't place the building on the terrace in the background at the moment. Any idea what it is/was? It's missing from the 1963 aerial imges if that is the location.
Referring to 1949.1 aerial photo, the camera man was standing on/near Castle Peak Road looking to the northeast the dead end of Kiu Kiang Street. At midpoint in this 1954 photo, there was a turn to the left another street that explains the building on the terrace. I think the building was built sometime in 1949-1954 and demolished before 1963 to make this fit. Regards, Peter
