Many thanks, David. When I did a search for C.E. Warren on the Proquest site for the SCMP, far more ads for monumental masonry came up than any other product of the company. A few years ago moddsey posted a link to an article by Jason Wordie, titled "Changing face of Hong Kong carved into its gravestones." Jason wrote that: Marble graves in cemeteries from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur are fitted with small metal plates bearing the legend C.E. Warren and Co, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. It was news to me that the company exported so widely. Perhaps the company advertised in The Straits Times and elsewhere in Asia, but I don't know whether that would have been in my grandfather's time or after my uncle, Leslie Warren had succeeded him, post-1923 - maybe both.
