mosaic tile boomerang

I have cropped off the legend written at the base of this photo which reads "Mosaic Tile winning from Wombat" and which I think is wrong. Although my grandfather's pony, Mosaic Tile did win against F.H. Kew's pony, Wombat at the gymkhana on 8th July 1922, the race report says that it was by a half a length, whereas in the later One and a Quarter Mile race on the same day Mosaic Tile beat F.H. Kew's pony, Boomerang by a neck. In my view this photo seems to show Mosaic Tile and Boomerang racing neck and neck at the winning post. The pony Dandy Kid in third place was four lengths behind. Mr Seth was riding Mosaic Tile for both races and, at the same gymkhana won another on the pony, New Year Gift from his own family's stable. As with the previous photo that I posted of three horses neck and neck at the winning post, my grandfather's house, "The Towers" can be seen in the upper right hand corner of the photo. All F.H. Kew's ponies had names connoting his family's Australian background. My Warren grandfather's ponies were known as Tile ponies, as all contained "Tile" in their name. All the newspapers carried reports of this "extra" gymkhana meeting in their editions of Monday 10th July 1922.
