There is an excellent image of the Black Rock in the Hong Kong Jockey Club's publication, The Race Goes On  by Peter Moss. The undated framed picture of a large group of Chinese spectators sitting on the rock protected by their sunshades probably hangs in the Club itself. The legend to the picture reads: "While richly attired socialites disported themselves in the grandstand as much to be seen as to see, the truly avid observers of form would perch on the Black Rock which offered the best vantage point of the crucial stretch of track where most races were decided."
