Thank you for this ad, David, which gives the exact Wyndham Street address of my grandfather’s showroom. I’m not sure if “Mosaic Tiles” is the name of another company, but twenty one years later my grandfather would call his most successful China pony “Mosaic Tile”. More about this pony later …..

The above advertisement in the China Mail of 20th September 1901 clearly stated C.E. Warren had moved from No. 25 Aberdeen Street to 3A Wyndham Street by 2nd August 1901 yet on the very same day of 20th September 1901, a same advertisement with the Aberdeen address is still extant.

On the same day for the edition of The Hong Kong Telegraph, C.E. Warren's business at Wyndham Street is described as 'Opposite to the CLUB GERMANIA'

This raises an interesting question Jill - does a photo exist for that section of the street in 1901?
This will be the closest I think for 3 Wyndham Street! (the building on the left of the photo)

At least we can now confidently say your grandfather's business was based in the building on the left of the photo.
