Clipping from the China Mail from 1936-08-17
The Shun On, a Kongmoon river-boat, has been smashed to pieces off the pier nears Laichikok Prison. The vessel lies half in and half out of the water, and will probably be a total loss.
Two men have been arrested for attempting to break open the ship's safe.
The slipways there are littered with the wreckage of boats and junks, and a very high tide is running, with the water well over the foreshore.
