In the item "Winning a race at Happy Valley", David refers to a "Mr Blank", owner of the pony called Greyback recorded as racing on 3 July 1909. Here he is again, mentioned in the press on 9 October 1920 as owner of the unplaced pony, Tredegar. Eleven years was quite a long time to be racing in Hong Kong unless you were one of the really wealthy owners. Was Mr Blank a commonly used racing name for those who wanted to preserve their anonymity?
