Viacheslav was my brother. He was very talented as a pianist. When he was just 11 years old, he was invited to be the soloist with a Hong Kong orchestra. I think that must have been in 1946. In the middle of the performance, my brother lost his place in the music and froze. The conductor quietly went over to the piano, pointed out on the sheet music where to begin again, and then started conducting again. While this was going on, the entire audience was absolutely silent! I was terrified! There was thunderous applause at the end of the piece.

Hi Paul,

Thanks so much for sharing that delightful anecdote with us! I hope this newspaper cutting will be of some interest to you and your family. It's a very distinctive name - if I find any more information I will try and post them here on gwulo as I scan a lot of newspapers for my own family history.

Kind regards

David
