The photo shows Garden Road on the right at the junction with Macdonnell Road looking south. I mentioned in another post about the traffic flow direction on Macdonnell Road being reversed. This photo captures the change as the blue sign with arrow alerts drivers travelling uphill on Garden Road to turn left for access to Macdonnell Road and would have been taken a good 10 plus years after the photo of your residence.
The location of the additional photo was the St. John Ambulance at 2 Macdonnell Road as marked here It was located on the opposite side of the road from your residence but not directly in front.
I wonder about the originator of this photo as it was obviously not taken by my family. I found it with one of the front entrance of St Paul's Co-Educational College and they both seem to have been taken from a car window. I thought maybe one of our acquaintances had taken them when they revisited Hong Kong at a later date and given them to my parents. I am not sure why the Colllege would be significant.
