The wuhu children playground in the 1950s at the wuhu street-chatham road junction. The date is likely between 1951 and 1954. The street sign "wuhu street" is visible. An arrow pointing to the right says "hunghom primary school" which was located inside a 4-storey residential building at the kun-yam street-wuhu street junction. Behind the playground, one can see the saint hill with a lot of squatter huts. They were removed after the 1954 fire. This remodelled playground was opened on 1951-8-13. The playground started off as early as 1937 when the Hung Hom Three District Kai Fong Association ( 紅磡三約街坊福利會) borrowed the piece of land south of the Saint hill from government. They removed part of the hill to make way for the playground.
