New Method College on Caroline Hill Road and its members of the Road Safety Patrol

I spotted this photo on a Facebook fan page which is dedicated to the alumni of New Method College. I don't know exactly when this photo was taken, but most likely it was shot in the 1980s because the school building was demolished in early 1990s to make way for a new residential building called "Caroline Garden" whose occupation permit was issued in January 1995.

In the photo, you can see a few team members of the Road Safety Patrol on duty. The team members were also pupils of the same school.

The Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol under the Hong Kong Road Safety Association was established in 1963. According to its website (rsa.org.hk), the purpose of the Road Patrol Team is to give youngsters a chance to acquire some basic knowledge of road safety at school and make them understand the right attitude when using the road. These youngsters will in turn promote it to their peers and family members, so that the common knowledge of road safety can be widely publicized. Since the patrol team is a uniformed team, through discipline training and activities, these youngsters can develop leadership skills and strengthen their sense of responsibility and self-discipline.
