The footbridge steel beams are being installed for a new footbridge linking Prince's Building to the Mandarin Hotel 76ft span (January 1965 SCMP Article) this would be the first fully enclosed & air conditioned footbridge in Hong Kong connecting commercial buildings, it was often refered to as the "Free-Flying Bridge". Hongkong Land was the first property developer to construct a footbridge (opened in 1965) over a major public road, allowing the Mandarin guests direct access to Prince's Building shops and offices.

With mention, in the added text, of Hongkong Land; I am assuming that the “Mr Roberts” to whose attention the clipping is being drawn is perhaps none other than Mr Vernon Roberts, Rugby enthusiast, and General Manager of Hongkong Land.
