Looks very like the Canadian Pacific Liner EMPRESS OF BRITAIN built by John Brown of Clydebank Scotland in 1930.
The largest liner in the Canadian Pacific fleet the vessel was designed for the Quebec service from Southampton. It also undertook cruising duties so Hong Kong could be a possible location. The liner did visit Hong Kong see https://gwulo.com/atom/14893
However, none of the small craft clustered around the ship in this photo appear to resemble the outlines of the junks and sampans of HK waters. A sharper image would help here.

I am sorry my photograph is not very clear as to the possible assorted vessels close to the liner but that is the only one I have. Pleased with post outcome as it clears up another photograph.
The Empress of Britain normally sailed the Atlantic between Quebec / Southampton but did its annual round-the-world cruise in its winter months starting from Southampton in December.
The above photo is consistent with the harbour of Hong Kong with the hills in the background. The EoB arrived in Hong Kong on 17th March 1934 and departed Hong Kong for Shanghai on 21st March 1934.
