It was 8 hours to Singapore, and another 8 to Columbo, and the noise of the 4 Merlin engines hard to bear for that long. One time there was a headwind so we had to stop to refuel in Saigon. I do remember the lounge area at the back of the plane as a welcome relief from the confined seating. As I recall, it was 2+3 across seating in tourist class, and 2+2 in first class.
