The flag just visible on a short mast at the stern looks like a White Ensign. According to tradition the crew are starting to line the decks of the carrier for its entry into the harbour. The sailors are wearing whites and have white headgear. If it was a Royal Naval vessel that would be Summer gear, so a more accurate date would be sometime in the Summer. (Andrew S)

A Colossus class carrier?
It looks similar to this photo of HMS Theseus:

HMS Triumph and Theseus
Thanks David. According to the Internet, the Theseus and Triumph were sister ships in the Colossus class of light fleet carriers - maybe there were more! I understand that they were commissioned at the end of WWII and were both deployed to serve in a carrier group during the Korean War. I guess that the three photographs of this ship could be of either of the carriers as they would both have visited Hong Kong during their deployment. Regards, Andrew
re: HMS Triumph and Theseus
Hi Andrew, I added my comment before reading your notes about HMS Triumph at https://gwulo.com/atom/33404. I'm not sure which of the carriers this one was, but it's good to get confirmation it was Colossus class.
