Thought we had missed Wendy having sailed from Hong Kong in the LST Frederick Clover for Inchon South Korea laden with a cargo of trucks on deck and a full cargo below deck. Wishful thinking, we did not miss her because she whacked us in the South China Sea off 0f Formosa. We Sustained damage to the bow doors and had to heave too, turn with the stern to the sea whilst she battered us for a while. Not a pleasant time in a small flat-bottomed ship, but we sailed on.
