Chung Wah Button Factory / 中華鈕廠 , Tung Chau Street (1965)
After looking at the greenboard and teachers all day, students in those days would see, as I did, this street scene while walking out of St. Francis Xavier's College. Some of us played soccer here. Just as memorable are the sight of these factories from our school. In certain classrooms, you could notice the movements of workers and their machinery. But don't take your eyes off the teacher for too long, for obvious reason. The man with an umbrella on the right could be one of the street vendors whose customers were mainly SFX students.
I wonder why a departure view such as this is not in every school year book. And the VW could be teacher Mr. Kim's after trading in his gas driven moped.
