Re: Russell Street
Hi There,
There is a street sign saying Russell Street by the left, just behind the lady in green. I believe the photo showed the fork at Percival\Matheson\Russell. There were multiple branches of rails there going towards parallel gateways when the depot was still in use.

The tram enters via Matheson Street adjacent to Russell Street on the left, it was unlikely derailed maybe returned from somewhere as it runs "reverse" with "Private" screen, i.e. Not in Service (the wider doors in general indicates the rear cabin).

Hi There,
Unfortunately the tracks were in the shadows and cannot be seen clearly. However,the tram appeared to be at an angle to the tracks thus it is likely something was afoot then. Might be difficult to dig out old news after all these years though.
