This photo shows the old Pokfulam dam and reservoir during completion. Although this postcard was sent in 1899, it shows the dam in 1863.

Pokfulam Reservoir
A panoramic view showing some of the historic buildings in the area, like the Bethanie, Douglas Castle of the University Hall, and the Former Dairy Farm Living Quarter covered with green mesh.
When I zoom in to the small basin area right behind the orange rooftop building below the reservoir, it seems like a small section of the old dam still remains.

Hi Freddy, yes, this seems to be a part of the old dam. The photo was taken in the same direction as the old one from 1866 posted for the place. This was also reported in the thesis
The architecture of Hong Kong's Waterworks: A Historical and Typological Study by Mak Chung Kit, Lawrence (Thesis October 2004, University of Hong Kong).
In this study similar photos are shown. I hesitated to copy and publish them on Gwulo, so I'm happy that you posted your photo.
