Peak Mansions

...so this is Peak Mansions. My mother, who came to HK from Guangdong in 1946/47, had her first job as an amah at the Peak Mansions. The boss worked for HSBC, as she recalls. Not knowing one English word, it was amazing how she was able to work for expatriate families in the ensuing 30 years. Until now, she still refers Peak Mansions as "pan manson" :-)
