QBS French teacher 1930s (1)

This is the first of two photos labelled "Quarry Bay School. Madame Dombreaux" on the front. On the back the spelling is "Dombreau." I can't find either spelling in French so perhaps it is "Dambrau" of Polish origin. The centrepiece of the photo looks like a flagpole, but without the flag. The stonework of the building seems to be the same as in the May Queen photo that I posted earlier. My cousin, Diana Warren is the girl on the left.

Given the May Queen was chosen during the School's Spring Festival, it is likely the main photo shows a maypole for children to dance and swing around.

A comparison photo from 1930 at the playground of Quarry Bay School.
