An all day- 5 day shooting event. Pistols, machine guns and rifles in which over 480 just-pistol shooters took part. Pistol shooters from Police, special forces and firearms instructors from all sections of the armed services took part. I came second, beaten by 1 point by Chris Godwin of the Army Catering Corps. Who is he? My target shooting partner, friend and cousin who later went on to shoot for England. During the shoot which was everything from target, rapid and combat I was shooting against the Gurka firearms instructors. Shoulder to shoulder combat, at one stage 4 targets in one go and 6 shots on each target. No more-no less or disqual. Checking the targets I had 7 rounds on one target and 8 rounds on another. the other targets had the correct 6 rounds on. The ref; at this time was a shooting savy SAS Captain. The 9mm round of the gurkas is .38" dia. My police rounds were 38 special which are .357" (Smaller and rounder hole) It was seen that the gurkas were going to lose out bigtime on this scoring and in order to get me disqual. loaded up spare rounds into their pistols and were putting a few extra hole in my targets. My targets were allowed and I was not disq. What was my score? 24 x bulls  240x240
