Hi David, in this post there is only one page with ferry services in 1980, all departing from HK Island. In the one for 1979 there are also connections starting from Kowloon or the New Territories.
The reason for asking is that there are connections from Sham Shui Po to both Central and Wilmer Street on the 1979 table. The 1980 table shows a connection from Central to Sham Shui Po, but Wilmer Street is missing. Has the latter service been terminated (as supposed), or is it on another sheet? Could you please check it.
Hi Klaus, I checked Volume 1 again and this is the only page that lists piers.
I have a copy of Volume 2 that covers Kowloon and the New Territories. It shows piers with services from Sham Shui Po to Central and to Wilmer Street, but the book is dated 1979 so it doesn't help answer your question.
Hi David, thank you for searching. In the meantime, I found the minutes of a meeting of the HONG KONG LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL from 1980. There it is referred that the Wilmer Street Pier was destroyed by Typhoon Hope in 1979 and the Sham Shui Po/Wilmer Street service will not be resumed. Will post that shortly.
