Food for Britain
Chapter 7 of Booth's book has a nice little story about this. "An elderly maiden aunt called Olive assumed, despite many letters to the contrary, that we not only lived under rationing but also in pretty primitive conditions." Olive proceded to send a 'care' parcel from Britain every two months.
Booth's mum finally made up and sent back a parcel for Olive containing all sorts of things you wouldn't find in rationed Britain. "Parcels from Olive ceased forthwith"!
