One change in the appearance is the concrete canopy seen in later photos. Vincent writes:

There was no concrete canopy at the theatre entrance in photographs taken in 1945 or before.  Probably the canopy was built in 1947.

1st Generation Queen's Theatre through the decades.

1939

Queen's Theatre looking east along Queen's Rd Central. I cannot be sure but I think the film that was screened was 'Idiot's Delight' starring Clark Gable that was released in 1939. Perhaps, Raymond Lo can help out on the exact screening dates.
