A good write-up by Brian Edgar of Walter Naef and a mention of Walvick Cottage: https://jonmarkgreville2.wordpress.com/2016/05/11/walter-naef-and-the-chances-of-history/

Naef was a Swiss national.

The "Dutchman" appears to be the owner of the property just east of the Officers' Mess: https://www.flickr.com/photos/91722684@N05/34936621015/in/photolist-rfBgYp-e9t5Ng-rfUZdf-dEibvM-dNntVP-e9yKrC-aKEbR6-aLgaSc-b2y1op-b2y1kD-aKEby6-98zcFd-aCvm69-aKFmFi-aKXa4H-aKX9W4-HcXpkk-21GRcHm-22MkWmg-26N3SeW-HQLU5X-98zcbo-98w2uP-bqYk2o-98zbCm-26N3SsG-PmSJTQ-NQ9LHg-VeejfK-NGetwH-NUGqpY-PGLLfG-PGLKzy-NUGr4y which was later converted to the St. Joesph's Anglo-Chinese School in mid-1950s.

CO = Commanding Officer

Where was ‘AIR HOUSE’ on Clearwater Bay Road?

In the 1970s there was an ‘AIR HOUSE’ in Kowloon Tong-Cornwall Street next to the children’s playground.

232 Clear Water Bay Road.... and apparently still called by that name .

Perhaps the C.O.'s gardener and housekeepers are still living there and nobody's told them the RAF left in 1997.

Interestingly, there was yet an earlier "Air House" on Repulse Bay Road.  On Feb 7 1968 an  SCMP report quoted :

AIR HOUSE SOLD FOR OVER $1m

The 15-room luxury  mansion, Air House, in Repulse Bay Road, has been  “sold in  excess of $1,000,000,”  a  Joint  Services spokesman disclosed  yesterday. However, he  could not say the exact amount  nor reveal  the identity of  the buyer.

Air House  was  vacated  last year when  the RAF  withdrew from  Hongkong.  It  was  the residence of  the  Air Officer Commanding.
