Great article. Thank you again. It explains why I can't find any Kluge landscape paintings of Hong Kong! It was not long after this that Kluge decided to ditch architecture, move to Paris and take up painting professionally.
Dr R.D. Scriven. M.C. (1942)
I believe that one of the portraits of “local personalities” mentioned at the end of this lengthy, informative article is that of decorated war hero and long-time Stanley resident, Robert Douglas SCRIVEN [1910-1989] | Gwulo
Dr Scriven
Yes, I think you're right. I just read about his amazing escape from Shamshuipo. What an interesting life he had.
Mrs Allison Owens
Perhaps another of the post-war portraits of “local personalities” mentioned at the end of this 1949 newspaper article is that of Alison Jeanette OWENS / WERNER (née FISHER) [1922- ] | Gwulo , Sydney-born, young mother who had lived through the trauma of life in the Stanley Internment Camp.
Thanks for pointing out that…
Thanks for pointing out that Mrs Allison Owens was perhaps Alison Jeanette Owens, now we have an identification for her.
