This photograph makes me laugh - imagine being a driver in Hong Kong negotiating a road like this - dodging trams, buses, rickshaws, bicycles, carts, tram stops - and the multitude of pedestrians nonchalantly crisscrossing like they own the road - notwithstanding an errant photographer or two standing in the middle of the road to take a snap.
Hi David, thank you for making me smile.!,I was that errant photographer 66 years ago couldn’t do it nowadays without someone holding my walking stick!! Bryan Panter.
I believe the tram stop is still there today, just a little bit before Pottinger Street. Site of Chung Nam Co. as shown become Chung Nam House, which still stands today.
If the background buildings were not over exposed we might be able to see the top of the Tak Wing Pawn Shop.

It’s a great shot Bryan. Generations after you can’t thank you enough for capturing a slice of Hong Kong life from the past!
Man Yee Building
Man Yee Building is the high rise building at top centre. The Tak Wing Pawn Shop is behind the tram and not in picture.
