This photo is more 1950s than mid-1960s - the traffic pagoda was replaced by traffic lights in Nathan Road in the 1960s photos that included the Sun Ya Hotel and Ritz Theatre. 

In the photo "The Quiet American" (1958) is seen showing at the Ritz Theatre. The film was released in Hong Kong in March 1959. It was screened at the Ritz Theatre from Tuesday 15th September 1959 to Friday 18th September 1959. 

Interestingly the Mid-Autumn Festival in 1959 was on the 17th September and the China Mail reported it was marred by dull rainy weather that stretched till and included the morning of the 18th September. 

This sunny photo is a late morning shot based on the position of the shadows - so likely the photo was taken on 15th or 16th September 1959.
