A rare Sternberg family New Year greeting card. Noticed at auction here Not postmarked but the postcard scene appears to be be earlier than 1910. Central Market (3rd generation) can be seen.
The back of the postcard may have been written by Sternberg himself to his office or residence at 68 Queen's Road Central and mentions his other postcard outlets were located at 34 and 51 Queen's Road Central. There is additional writing across the postcard which I cannot make out.

Could the vertical writing be a date: 2 December 1910, Hong Kong
Likely it is
Likely it is. Thus the postcard dealer mentioning the year as being 1910.
Interesting. Can possibly…
Interesting. Can possibly refine the date further.
In the link for Moritz Sternberg I have sketched out a family tree of 2 boys and 2 girls:
Bertha Sternberg (22nd August 1896-19??). She survived into adulthood as she married.
Jacob Sternberg (30th October 1899-14th February 1901)
Manos (Manuel) Sternberg (24th April 1901-12th July 1985)
Esterina (Esther) Sternberg (6th December 1903-19th January 1996)
The postcard clearly shows an older boy not yet named on the family tree. Judging by the ages of the children, the youngest girl (Esterina) looks about 3, the next boy (Manos) looks about 5, Jacob would have been deceased, then we have Bertha who looks about 10. And the eldest brother who looks about 12+ years (name unknown atm).
This would place the date about December 1906.
The youngest, Esterina,…
The youngest, Esterina, turned 3 in December. To wish a Happy New Year would mean the card printed by December before the New Year. More likely the card would be December 1907. Given the earliest known dated Sternberg postcard is from 1908, I would say the better estimate is December 1907.
