AW Ingram was my grandfather. I have several of his old passports, and also have done my own online search regarding his birthplace. He was Born 20th May 1888 in Wonna, South Australia. He was the pre-war & immediate post war Secretary of the Salibury Rd YMCA, Kowloon. He was interned in Stanley Camp during WWII, survived, and retired approximately 1953. His eldest child, my father TR Ingram was a HK Treasury accountant who was a HK Volunteer captured & interned at Shampshuipo Camp, then sent to a Coal Mine in Sendai Japan. He had been married only 6 months, and did not see his oldest child till she was 5 years old. I am the post war child.
For me, it is important that we correct the date and place of birth of AW Ingram. Somewhere, I have read comments by Barbara Anslow that there were TWO Ingrams in Stanley. My grandfather, A.W.Ingram was not born in Milford Haven UK. He, my father and my sister were all born in Australia.
