Given the earlier photo of Mr Ho on HMS Ladybird, I guess this photo this was taken sometime between April and December 1953.
Many thanks for researching this information. I know the detail is not good but do you think the background is likely to be Japan rather than Hong Kong as I guess it could have been taken between Dec 1953 and Mar 1954 while HMS Tyne was in Hong Kong?
