Thanks, Moddsey!  Charles Adams is one of the crew that I know the least about, so here's hoping we'll eventually learn more about him.  --Steve

Is the name correct? Could there have been a mistake in transcription?

I found Charles Wayne Adams born 23 December 1904 in Franklin Pennsylvania. His Draft Card shows him in New York. His occupation was American President Lines  birth date 23 December 1904. Death records have him in San Francisco birth 23 December 1904 and death on 26 January 1966.

American President Lines, LLC, is an American container shipping company that is a subsidiary of French shipping company CMA CGM. It operates an all-container ship fleet, including nine U.S. flagged container vessels.

Interesting!  The details for Charles Wayne Adams are pretty close to those for Charles Wigton Adams.  All the sources I've seen give the middle name of Wigton, but it's quite possible his name got garbled somewhere along the line.

Thanks, moddsey.  I hadn't considered the China Families website since Charles Adams had no connection to China or family there.  He just had the bad luck to end up in the Stanley camp.
