September 1983 - A disruption beyond Central Market has resulted in western bound trams having to be switched across to the eastern line. With modern trams collecting power via a pantograph, Hong Kong Tramways must be one of the last commercial systems to retain the practice of swinging the trolley pole.
Looking at Google maps it appears that this cross over point has since been removed and relocated to beside the Landmark (see 1999 video below)

Re: Likely moved during island line construction
Hi There,
The gaunletted junction likely have moved during the construction of the MRT Island Line. I vaguely remember the tracks had been moving North & South when part of Des Voeux Road was dug up.
