You made a "place" for this property back in 2011, duplicated by me in 2015. My apologies. I'll try to add my 2015 post to your 2011 "place", and will then ask David to delete my "place".
The new "motor road" between Magazine and Victoria Gaps can be seen above 71 The Peak. This bit, between Magazine Gap and Peak Church, was practically completed in 1922, but the whole project wasn't finished until 1925. Wouldn't be surprised if 71 Peak Road was built shortly after the road opened up easy access to the site.
Up on the hill above 71 Peak Road the matsheds and earliest stages of construction of the Mount Gough Senior Officers Quarters can be seen. Site prep was completed and construction of the buildings started in 1924. I think that's what we are looking at here.
