I have a feeling that I've uploaded this Warren family photo before, but if so, I can't find it. As the houses of Broadwood Road and the landscape behind the Happy Valley Racecourse have cropped up in several recent posts, perhaps someone can help with identifying the large house beyond the flat roof that takes up the foreground of this photo. The photo's legend reads "View to Kowloon from the roof of our house". "Our house" would have been 19 Broadwood Road next to "The Towers", but the roof shown must be that of no. 19 itself as it is clearly not that of "The Towers". I assume Morrison Hill is shown on the left. Grateful if anybody has any ideas about the house in question and its precise location. It may not be in Broadwood Road.

Identifying the mystery house
Thanks for coming to the rescue of my memory, moddsey! It's a relief to see that I agree with my self of 8 years ago in most of the details. There are some very helpful comments from IDJ and David in the thread attached to my first post. I take David's point that the date of the photo must be in the 1920s. The subject of the photo would seem to be the flat roof itself for whatever reason. I can't match it to other family photos. I also note the opinion that the photo was taken from further down the road than nos. 20 or 19 Broadwood Road. We don't have any photos taken by Hannah Warren or Charles Olson in our collection, so I still think it must have been taken by Leslie Warren for a practical or professional reason. After his father's death in 1923 no love was lost between him and the Olsons and I think it unlikely that he visited their house (no. 13) in the 1920s. In 2015 I said that I had no diagrammatic images of the houses in Broadwood Road. I must have acquired a couple in 2017 that I think date from 1970. There is no sign of 13 Broadwood Road in either image - instead we have 12A and 12C, but no 12B. If anyone has the talent to match the mystery house in the 1920s photo to the diagram of a house in one of the later maps, that would be wonderful.
