Thanks for the newspaper article. I knew of of single and two digit phone numbers in the early days but I'm still hoping to find an early phone book linking the numbers to the users, if anyone knows if there was such a thing? Tried to upload a photo but no luck still. File size is 68 K but I get a message saying it won't accept the size?

Is the 'wef' date a typo in the heading? The article says the changes would take effect in Jan 1930.
