Review in the Hong Kong press, July 10, 1956:
Two-Gun Cohen. Canton General’s Book in Popular Edition. The biography of General Morris Cohen, picturesque figure who was associated with the fortunes of Dr Sun Yat-sen in Canton thirty or more years ago, has now appeared in cheap edition published by the Panther house of London. It gives a racy account of Chinese Republican history, as made in Canton in the crisis period when Dr Sun returned to resume the unfinished revolution and the warlords were finally suppressed.

Michael Alderton (essarem) notes: This cover illustration, by the popular English illustrator Cyril Webb, is a depiction of General Cohen attending the 28 June 1924 passing out parade of the Whampoa Military Academy cadets. The South China Morning Post, published the following day, reported that: “Canton’s Troops: Yesterday’s Grand Review. A grand review of troops took place today on the Northern Parade Ground. The troops were all ready at 10 a.m. waiting for the arrival of the Generalissimo, Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Dr. Sun arrived at 10-30 a.m., accompanied by his personal bodyguard under the direct supervision of Mr. Maurice Cohen.”
