Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site, and I have been looking for histrorical photos of gardens made in wartime in Hong Kong (and Asia more generally). I know in WW2, internees in Stanley prison created kitchen gardens to supplement food provisions, and I also heard there were gardens in the grounds of some schools during the war.
I have searched the images on this site, but haven't found any yet. Is anyone aware of any historical photos on this subject? I would be very grateful for any comments or suggestions.
Many thanks
Best wishes,
Rachel

Hi David, that's wonderful - thank you so much for sharing the image! Do you know if there is a version of this wihtout the annotations on the website? I have had a look but couldn't find one.
So great to see an image, I have seen several mentions of the gardens in books.
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Rachel
