The ABC website has a recording of a conversation with Barbara from 2012, where she talks about her family's experiences in Hong Kong: http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2012/02/20/3435041.htm

Her mother was heavily pregnant with Barbara when she went into Stanley Camp in January 1941. She needed a caesarean section to deliver the baby, so was taken out from camp to the Tsan Yuk maternity hospital (the building is still standing today), escorted by nine Japanese guards! The delivery was performed successfully by Dr Gordon King on the 6th of February. Just four days later he began his escape from occupied Hong Kong.

In the last section of the recording, from around 43:00 on, she also talks about her aunt Alison.
