Have been researching whereabouts of Allan Fullarton Prior, baptised Hong Kong in December 1929. Until 1980 was a resident of Southport Queensland Australia and now the search has gone cold.  Allan was the author of a book called The Legend of the White Serpant published in 1960.......have you any knowledge of his whereabouts or has he contacted you at any time?  I realise he is quite elderly but I would relly love to contact him.

Thank you for posting this sincerely Ann Woinarski, Sydney Australia

Hi Ann

I am Allan's son, Brett Prior.  I have only now seen your post and would really like to hear from you.  Sadly my father died many years ago in Queensland, Australia in his mid 50s, when I was quite young.  I miss him very much so would appreciate any history you know of him.

Sincerely,

Brett

Hello.

From what I can deduce, my Mother, then Janet Cottrell, dated Allan in HK from ~1957-1959. My Grandfather Cyril Cottrell was involved with the construction of the Kai Tak Airport, my mother worked at Dynasty/Mandarin Textiles at the Peninsula Hotel, Kowloon. Dining and dancing 6 nights a week? They seemed to have broken off, just before Allan left for Australia to follow on with his desire to be published. He had just received a rejection from 'Cassell's' spurning "The Guest"

In his letter he noted about putting an add in the paper:

"Young man, newly arrived, tremendously talented, wishes copy-writing job in advertising agency. Radio, films, newspaper experience. Very nearly broke. Now's your chance, save a life, double your profits! This offer may not be repeated"

Have photo, will try to post

Tried to post on this topic a picture of Allan and my Mother + copy of the ad to Auction (Jan 1959) off Tat Koon which appears to have been Allan's HK residence. The pictures uploaded but seem to be on the general page?
