Robert Hogarth was Lance Sergeant 161 in the HKP and at the time of the Japanese invasion was attached to CID HQ.

Robert (Bert) Hogarth was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1914.  On 26 August 1939 he set sail from Southampton to Hong Kong on the Viceroy of India, together with a number of other "Crown Agents" who were members of the Hong Kong Police.  Immediately following the Japanese invasion in December 1941, Robert was interned at Luk Hoi Tong Boarding House before being interned at Stanley Civilian Camp for the duration of the war.  After the war he became Superintendent of Mails in Hong Kong and Hong Kong remained his permanent residence until at least 1960.  He retired to the UK and died in Fairlie, Ayrshire, Scotland in 1987.  He remained single.
