A second Wantsai service, to Kowloon City, was scheduled to begin operations during this year, but was postponed pending the arrival of lifts oredered from the United Kingdom for the new Kowloon City ferry pier. It is now hoped that this service will be inaugurated early in 1956. A new government pier is also under construction at Stewart Road, one block west of Tonnochy Road, on completion of which it would be possible to divert the present Jordan Road service to the larger Stewart Road pier, and use Tonnochy Road pier for the Kowloon City service.
So opening would be in 1956, and closure around 1970.
And please add the tag "pier" so this one appears on the "pier map".
I remember in the mid-1960s, the pier at the end of Paterson Street shown in the 1957 map is already gone. The small round about was still there then. There were steps going down to the water where Sampans would take you out to other crafts out in the shelter. Sometimes there were sampans selling fishes, shrimps and crabs there too.
All make way for futher reclamation a few years before the Cross Harbour Tunnel was built.

This is a photo of Wanchai waterfront in 1963. The building next to the police station at the Fleming junction looks like a residential building in 1963. It has a neon sign Enicar (英格鈉錶) on top. In 1965 it was demolished to make way for the harbour hotel (https://gwulo.com/node/56324).

194. Stewart Road Ferry Pier. This pier, designed for use by the Hongkong & Yaumati Ferry Co., was completed by the end of the year. It is 105 feet long, spans 22 feet between the seawall and a row of eight reinforced concrete pedestals in the sea and has been supplied with a steel-framed superstructure fixed by nuts and bolts which may easily be removed at a later date to allow the pier to be converted for general use. Two sets of landing steps, one temporarily decked over, are provided. Brick-built ticket offices are sited on the praya and these, too, may easily be removed if necessary.

204. The construction of this pier which was described in previous reports was completed and handed over to Hong Kong & Yaumati Ferry Co. on the 1st June.
Therefore the old Stewart pier was supposed to be demolished in 1968. The following air view in late 1968 shows that the old pier at the Stewart-Gloucestor junction is already gone. The original position can be identified by the tall Pentax building at the lower left corner which sits at that junction. The old pier was just west of that junction.
The marker is a little bit off. According to the above picture "1956 stewart pier.png", the pier is at north-west corner of Gloucester road-Srewart road junction.
