I'm grateful to Patricia for information about Marian Ramsey. Marian married Alfred Formosa Ramsey, an engineer with the Douglas Steam Company, but was widowed in 1910. She appears in the Ladies Directory in Annelise's post as living at 131 Wanchai Road in 1895-1899.  Marian is one of the few women recorded as attending the funeral of my grandfather, Charles Warren, in June 1923. She was two years older than him. We haven't been able to identify a cheerful middle aged woman who appears in photos with my grandfather and then with my uncle, Leslie Warren around 1923, but it's not improbable that this is Marian who was two years older than my grandfather and very likely a long standing family friend from the St Joseph's Church congregation.  I haven't yet found Marian's name (Mrs A.F. Ramsey) in the newspapers, but it's possible that, like my grandmother, she appears in one of the lists of charitable donors to one cause or another.

We've got a William Lysaught Ramsey in the 1941 Jurors Lists:

c         Ramsey, William Lysaught.    Representative, Confederation Life Association (of Canada)    141 Waterloo Road, Kowloon.

Based on the combination of names was he their son?

Regards, David

Many thanks to Tony Ramsey for posting the family photo that includes his grandmother, Marian Ramsey. As she was one of the few single women listed as one  of the mourners at the 1923 funeral of my grandfather, Charles E. Warren, I wanted to eliminate her from possible candidates who appear with him in photos at The Towers. I can now safely say that Marian bears no resemblance to the large lady I’m trying to identify.
